Today's Pink Warrior's name is Diane Wyness. Her story was shared by her daughter Wendy Damonte (Channel 2 anchor for Nevada's KTVN). This was by far the most touching Breast cancer story I've come across and we're only a few days into BCAM. Diane had beat breast cancer once and thought she was in the clear. She had been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, almost exactly one year after her husband passed.
Diane underwent a double mastectomy (having both breast removed), chemotherapy (for four months), multiples of medication, shaving her head, physical therapy, and a little known spiritual treatment called "healing touch" where balance is found through energy and spiritual, emotional, and physical healing is facilitated.
Because Diane had so many lymph nodes removed (37 of 53 of them had cancer), he strength and health started to fade and her immune system slowly began to shut down. Wendy and the rest of the family then decided to prepare for hospice, as her mother didn't have much longer to live. On December 20th the hospice nurse informed the family that Diane would have four more weeks but she passed away that very day.
Early detection is the most effective way to beat the disease, but YOU WON'T KNOW, IF YOU DON'T GO! Check out her story on the link below. #ThinkPink #BoobFight #TeamShoeicide #BCAM #BeInTheKnow
