ac·ces·sor·ized

Roll out of bed,  shower, brush your teeth, groom you hair, put on clothes, grab a breakfast bar, and out the door.  We do this same routine, on average 5 times a week! That need to stay in the bed 10-20 minutes longer makes all the difference between "getting dressed" and "putting on clothes". Like most, its a hassle to pry myself from the bed! Every morning I'm usually holding on to my pillow for dear life, trying to squeeze in 10 more minutes of sleep. Everyone knows that being "fabulous" takes a little more time than simply putting on clothes. On mornings like this, I usually throw on a pair of jeans, grab a white tee, glam it up a notch with a cute wedge, a few bangles, a big bag and I'm out the door...

Styling is the art of transforming a look, by adding details and creating a theme. The key to making any thing look great is ACCESSORIES!!!

v. ac·ces·sor·ized, ac·ces·sor·iz·ing, ac·ces·sor·iz·es
v.tr.
To furnish with accessories: Ex: accessorized my outfit with a matching watch (as defined by thefreedictionary.com)

Whether it's adding small details like a studded earring, a nice watch, or going more dramatic by adding an arm full of arm candy or a huge bag, accessories can be all the difference in "putting on clothes" and "getting dressed"!

It can get super expensive trying to keep up with every new look, or trend; So what I do is keep it simple and "Stick to a theme". Whenever you shop, find items that will compliment things you already have. (Ex: if you have a red shoe, get a red bag, red earrings, red bracelet, red lipstick etc.) This way you don't have to beat your brain trying to get 'this' to match 'that'! You can wear something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans and dress it up. It's not rocket science, its actually very easy, it doesn't take a lot of time, and gives you a lot of range!

I've included a few examples with items out of my personal closet that illustrate how accessorizing can transform the most basic pieces into an entirely different look.

Black High Waist Skirt ($8.80)

How do you rock your Beanie?

Yesterday I was browsing online on one of my favorite clothing sites Rivers Island and I seen that they have a bunch of new beanies! My obsession with beanie hats is kind of redic. I think they can go with almost anything, from a really feminine outfit to an edgy fit. I'm sure I wont be able to just buy 1 because they are so cheap. £10.00 = 12.85 USD!

I can't wait to wear them.

Here are few of what they have to offer and my favorites!

Here are the looks I created :) Enjoy!

"Throwin' Shade"

"She's pretty for a dark skin girl"... *screeching tires* We've all heard this imbecilic phrase/saying at least once. I loathe it with every fiber in my body. This is one blopic* that I am completely unbiased about.

Oddly, I am a lightly pigmented girl. At no given point in my life did I feel I looked better than any of my darker counterparts, solely based on skin tone. I strongly believe that beauty comes in all shades. I can easily name a plethora of medium to dark toned women that are extremely beautiful. (Gabrielle Union, Kerry Washington, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Obama... Just to name a few.)

Everyone should be happy in their own skin. Easier said than done, right? Why is it that celebs are being airburshed up to almost 2-3 shades lighter? They just always seem to have that "glow". Things that make you go "Hmmm...". Are we being coerced to think that lighter is better? Is black not beautiful?

Taking a more personal route, it disturbs my soul to know that one is threatened by the "light skin girl". Society has created these stereotypes that have brainwashed us -- well not all but some. I, for one, am not moved. Men tend to seek the lighter tones but if you look around and compare your circle of friends, most times all the light skin, "most desirable" chicks are still single. Coincidence? Nope! I guess they, I mean "we" are just fun to look at. Let's not even mention the negative connotation of "red girls". I hear some of the worst things EVER! True or not, it still bothers me. Oh and I absolutely hate when someone tells me I am acting a certain way because I'm "a red girl". Its foolish and low. Since when did pigment determine personality? There is some truth in every joke.

I guess you can kinda apply the whole "To whom much is given much is expected" theory to this ordeal. If at any point I gave the impression that I am unhappy in my skin, allow me to clarify that as false. Perhaps, because I am of a lighter tone I am not aware of the struggles a darker toned female might have experienced. However, we might look the part but it's no easier than being purple or blue.

So, what's your take?

Spike Obsession

I can't get enough of spikes! They've come into style & if they ever go out I'll probably still be rocking them. Whether they're on my shoes, clothes, or accessories, they're a must have. Dressed up, or even if you're going for a casual look, spikes add an edge to your attire. Try a pair of spiked combat boots with leggings & a top. Or a loose blouse paired with a spiked leather jacket. You can even experiment with your formal attire. You'd be amazed at how a chunky spiked bracelet will spice up your dress. Please be sure to click the "Shop Team Shoeicide" tab & check out the spiked style shoes at Shoegasm. - @FabAndFearless

Accesories And Such

My latest fad these days are these cool little wallet cases for all my #teamiPhone folks. It has compartments for your debit/credit cards and ID the two most important things you need while you're out. They're available in a variety of hot designs and styles. If you're not fond of purses, clutter and baggage (although its bag season) these are perfect for you! It's very convenient for the "get up and go" type. They can be found on Amazon ranging from $9 to $50 and up. -Meangirl_ro

When in doubt, Bun it out!

Going on a last minute date?  Going for a girls night out but your hair won't curl right? Or you might just want a quick classy up-do. Whatever the case may be, try the sock bun look! It's fun, flirty and sexy and not to mention the easiest and the quickest hair style I use for myself .

I felt free

Hello peeps :)

So last night, I took my weave out of my hair to let it breathe. Soon as I took it out, I sat on my bed wondering.. "OK Naz, what are you gonna do now?" It has been a while since I wore my hair out especially since I cut it a few months back.

Now I am always trying something new with my hair, new style, new color, new length new SOMETHING. So once I took my hair out, I said "hmmmm why not leave it out and go curly?"  Naturally my hair is curly, but through out the day it ends up looking dry, so I searched the web to see if there was something I could grab in stores (TARGET) real quick.

That's when I came across KINKY CURLY. I watched about 5 different YouTube videos on it and read up on some reviews. All great things were said I must say, the only thing that had me on edge was the price. It was kind of expensive, but I thought hey, why not.

So here are my results. :]

I also purcahsed these products .

I love Motions products.

Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-In Detangler (11.99) && Curling Custard (16.99)

I also restocked on some E.L.F products, saved me from ordering online :)

Mineral infused Primer ( that I LOVE)

Feel free to ask me anything :)

Look For Today

Today I went very Girly (love these looks) I paired a simple silk sleeveless sage green tank with an orange patterned flowy skirt. I call it the flirt skirt because its long enough to be classy but short enough to make the boys gawk! I completed the look with a skinny waist belt and a platformed beige and wheat bottom heel, with pearl studded earrings. Cheers to the freakin weekend! -Meangirl_Ro

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection

MAC Cosmetics latest inspiration is film siren Marilyn Monroe. They have dedicated an entire collection to the timeless beauty, all the way down to the packaging. Hues of red, brown, & nude comprise the collection, which is perfect for the Fall season. Choose from a wide range of eye shadows, eye liners, eye lashes, lipstick, mascara, blush, & even nail lacquers. There is something for everybody. I can't wait to own a few things from this collection myself! - @FabAndFearless

Layering is Fun!

My favorite season is here...FALL! You can look cute and stay warm by layering your clothes and adding a scarf around your neck to accent your outfit! Don't forget to spice up your style by wearing a super hot pair of boots, new items perfect for fall can be found at www.shopteamshoeicide.com

Show us how you layer your clothes and how you stay warm but stay fashionable at the same time!

It gets pretty cold here in Ohio so I keep my son and myself bundled. its so easy to lose fashion senses when all you want to do is stay warm. Throw on your favorite crewneck and put on a cut off jean vest on top of your crewneck or put on your favorite hoodie and throw on a letterman jacket on top of it. Those are definitely my favorite styles for fall. I've included pics of myself, my son Skler and some celebs layering!

Don't forget to follow me on twitter and Instagram @xoeirika XOXO
Check out my son, Skyler rocking a scarf, a hoodie and a letterman jacket!

Eye Candy

Funny Thing is, It seems like I watch a lot of television for a person who isn’t a fan of TV.. BUT I have been able to catch “Live with Kelly and Michael” (Primarily because it comes on after the local news) Any hoot, the “LIVE” morning show has always been one of my favorites; and now that Michael Strahan, (Ex NFL defensive end, who ended his career with a super bowl ring, and holds the record for most sacks in one season) *Side bar for those not so into sports chicks* is a co-star I'm more interested then ever, he's super tall, charming and simply gorgeous... He's all around DREAMY!

He's such a gentle giant, he's super sweet and of course as a morning show host he's capable of holding a mature adult conversation and he's seemingly witty and well rounded. All the things a gal wants... Lets not get too fired up... he's engaged (to reality TV show star, and Ex wife of comedian Eddy Murphy, Nicole Murphy)

Nonetheless, you just can't hate a big, muscular, charming, gorgeous man like this... and when I say BIG I Mean It! As expected, he towers over his co-star Kelly who is only 5'3 so at 6 feet 5 inches tall he is the true definition of tall, dark and handsome! To Top it off he's a Scorpio! (Theeee Most romantic, and all around most awesome sign in the Zodiac... yea I'm a little biased but hey who cares anyway)

I just had to share with you all because I think he's officially my new TV Boo!

Yours Truly,
@Mocha3badd

Look for today

Today I went vintage. School teacher 50's styled. I wore a high waist knee length printed skirt and paired it with a silk button up blouse (pleated sleeves) with Carmel colored sandals and belt. Accessories weren't needed because it would easily take away from the graceful simplicity of the look, so I just wore black ball stud earrings. Practically the entire ensemble was thrifted! I love vintage looks like this. What do you guys think?

Shoe Candy: The Leopard Sneaker Wedge

As we all know, one of the hottest trends lately have been the wedge sneaker. It's a new and improved way to rock a pair of sneakers without looking too casual. If you know me personally, you know that I'm not a sneaker kind of girl. However, I'm considering the wedge pair. I'm loving this leopard print, these are all the rave at Team Shoeicide! Take a look!

They're a great alternative to the Rebecca Taylor pair which is retailed at $295.00.
With that amount,  you can purchase about 6 pairs of these babies because they are only retailed at $46.99! Not only are they affordable,  but they're also comfortable. The last thing I would want are shoes that aren't comfy,  I definitely want shoes that I can transition from day to night. The trendy print of the shoe allows you to wear it in various ways. You can dress it up or down. Below I put together 3 different ways you can wear the leopard print wedge sneaker.

Vintage with an edge
Military Glam
Girly
What are some other ways you guys would wear these cute pair of sneakers??

Just Chillin

Hello Dolls.

Now that fall is here all I want to do is SHOP. I find myself leaning towards the most comfy knits and jeans that catch my eye. I love the lounge look and that "yeah, I may look like I just rolled out of bed and threw anything on, but I look fabulous" Look hehee :)

I created an image board of some of the coziest and easiest ensembles to put together.

1st look: The Boyfriend Jean.

Pair your Boyfriend Jean with a button up, it can be any color you choose. This is such a classic look and its also the perfect "weekend" look. Pairing this look with your favorite ankle booties is a must. Even though your distressed BF jeans scream casual.. you can doll them up as well. For the accessories, I would keep it minimal. A great statement necklace and bracelet should get the job done. Lastly grab that over sized hobo bag of yours and your look is complete!

2nd look: Boho

This look is so easy. With the 70s making its way back onto the runways, it shouldn't be hard to spot a pair of great wide legs! Add your favorite graphic tee a couple of over sized bangles and a cross body bag and your look is complete gals :)

3rd look: Maxi's in the Fall

Yes I said it. Maxi skirts are not just for the summer and spring!
Long Knit skirts are my favorite! They look great with fitted long sleeve tees. & since its fall, throw on a cozy vest or sweater to top of your look. To keep warm, wear a long boot underneath your amazing skirt & be sure to play with all sorts of accessories
Xo- Naz

My Fall Fave

This fall I'm all about jackets. Denim, jean, and leather. Crop style, fitted, bomber, classic all kinds. You can pair them with a skinny jean/ legging or a high waist pencil skirt. Underneath you can throw on a loose fitting logo tee or a v-neck. They're fun, stylish and give and add edge to your look. Work it out! Make sure that shoe is bold and stunning ie. an ankle bootie or a keyhole pump happy fab fall -meangirl_ro

New Music

I made a post recently about my new favorite song “Birthday Song” on Instagram and It had over 200 Likes! I guess we all like a little ratchetness here and there! I first became a fan of the song about 2 weeks ago after seeing the video on MTV Jams I'm not really a fan of TV but the video was so theatrical that it took me for a loop. And the catchy chorus doesn't make it easy to forget! So this song has been stuck in my head for days now, I even caught myself dancing in circles doing the funny arm dance that 2 Chainz does in the video! I'm so embarrassed that I'm in love with this song but I guess this is my new guilty pleasure! The Album "Based on a T.R.U. Story," is in stores now, but you can download the single “Birthday Song” on iTunes for $1.29.

I included an insert from Billboard Magazine that will give you a little more insight into this hit! - @Mocha3Badd

“While birthdays are typically full of rich fantasies and powerful wishes, 2 Chainz and guest Kanye West have changed that scope on the Atlanta rapper's latest single, "Birthday Song." The second offering from Chainz's upcoming studio debut, "Based on a T.R.U. Story," finds both artists toying with the simple things in life.

"All I want for my birthday is a big booty girl," requests 2 Chainz on the song's chorus.

Using his signature bold, witty punch lines, 'Ye wrestles with the idea of a ménage à trois with his lady in question.

"Y'all been together 10 years, you deserve a ménage," raps the Chi-Town native. "Especially if you put that BMW in the garage/Especially if you paid a couple payments on her mama crib/Weren't you at niece's graduation, man I hate those kids.”

Before blowing out on the candles on this track, 2 Chainz sends listeners off with a new phrase: "Deuce and 'Ye." “

Fringe Trend

Fringe boots are all the rage this fall/winter !

One of my favorite trends are boho-chic and these boots are not only warm and cozy, but they also add a little fun and boho-flair to your Winter 2012 outfits.
