Rihanna for River Island Fall Collection

Miss Rihanna has been a busy lady with her Diamonds World Tour, the upcoming release of her RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection (http://marquiseyvette.tumblr.com/post/59879135807/riri-hearts-mac-fall-collection), as well as her River Island Fall line. Yes, Rihanna has collaborated with River Island again & this time she brought her A game. The previous line was bland, cheap looking & overpriced, but this time she has produced quality material. I actually want to own everything in this collection! I think more time & effort were put into creating this line. These pieces seem to really reflect Rihanna’s personal style & who she is.

Rihanna has proven that she doesn’t need a marketing machine behind her because she can do all the advertising on her own. RiRi has been a walking billboard for her brand, as she has been spotted in various pieces from the line looking hot. You can find Rihanna’s River Island Fall Collection online & at River Island locations September 12th, but you can go to http://bit.ly/RIRIPREORDER to pre-order certain items right now! Also, to enter to win a chance to join Rihanna at her exclusive River Island event in London go to https://us.riverisland.com/styleinsider/competitions/win-tickets-to-rihanna-launch-party & register. Check out the photos below & let me know what you think about the collection. Plus, watch the behind the scenes video of the promo shoot.

Remembering Aaliyah

This past Sunday marked the 12th anniversary of songstress Aaliyah’s death. It seems like just yesterday I heard she had died in a plane crash & I was convinced it was a rumor. Then it was confirmed on the news & my heart dropped. I said to myself “this can’t be real”. I think everyone felt like they knew Aaliyah personally & at that very moment I felt like I lost a family member.
Such a beautiful spirit gone so young & so tragically, but her music lives on. We continue to hear her timeless voice on the radio, as her songs never seem to get old. Artists like Drake & Chris Brown channel her spirit through their music, they both have current songs featuring the late artist. It doesn’t matter how many years go by we will never forget the face, we will never forget the talent & we will never forget the voice of Aaliyah Dana Haughton. Continue to rest in peace Baby Girl.

Pushed Back??? But Do We Care?

"The release of Dedication 5 has been temporarily postponed for a short period while Wayne puts finishing touches on it - including another new song. Stay tuned for an update." Lil Wayne's camp reported via his Facebook page less than an hour ago...  Although you can find many leaked versions of Dedication 5, the less than anticipated mix-tape was supposed to officially drop this Labor Day weekend...

Lil Wayne also went on record and apologized to his fans via twitter, admitting that this just hasn't been his year.

"Noticed I wasn't nominated nor involved n da MTV VMA's nor da BET awards...I apologize to my fans and I promise 2 work harder if it kills me"

I mean, thanks for the update... But... Do We Care? Has Lil Wayne lost his flare as a rapper? Personally I think so. He was near death at one point this year and I was barely moved! Yea, I was a little moved by the tweet... I Mean, surely nobody wants him to die... Nor do we want his work to give him more health problems (I'ma act like the drugs and the double cups of purp aint have ish to do with it...) BUT I think it's probably best to say that he's used all of his 15 minutes of fame, it's literally been like 20 years.. Dude. RETIRE!!!  From 1999-2011 I was one of his biggest fan, now I wouldn't dare use the space on my iPhone to download another album. Lyrically he can be a beast.. But in my opinion... He's a has-been.

Give me the 2006 Weezy and I'll Give A Fu#&. Until Then... Lil Wayne.. You Don't Really Have To Say "Sorry For The Wait".

Yall Care??

On Sight!

Today's IOTD is brought to you by none other than one of our FFB's  (Favorite Foreign Brands), River Island! Of course they have all kinds of fabulous and artsy clothing and shoes, but the accessories are a must peep.

Found this fierce red leather quilted tote accented with gold chains. If this isn't hot, then you obviously have no style.  This can definitely be a fall must have, and can be paired with Shoeicides very own BOLD Red Lace UP Gladiator Heels. Besides, who wouldn't appreciate a nice bright red bag? No brainier.

This bag is also available in Black and Royal Blue
check out www.shopteamshoicide.com for shoes

Holy Grail In Art Form

Moments ago, The official visual for Holy Grail (the title track for Jay Z's 12th studio Album) made it's way on to the internet. Definitely not your typical music video. Definitely surpasses what he did with Picasso Baby. The Video in itself is very deep and passionate, lots of slow motion metaphorical scenes!

The setting of the visual takes place in what looks to be an abandoned high ceiling cathedral. But it has modern accented accessorized props like florescent bright lights, towers of champagne, and a circle of ghostly interpretive dancers. I had to watch the video at least four times.

The Holy Grain video was Directed by  Anthony Mandler. You can check it out here!

Keeping up With Khloe`

Earlier today, like any normal day I took to my Facebook to share random thoughts and opinions. One of my post today simply stated that "Khloe is my favorite Kardashian, she's the only one who makes sense". A handful of people liked that particular status, which meant they agreed with me to whatever extent.

Khloe and her marriage (aside from their reality tv show) has been placed under the most unflattering microscope of scrutiny. From the paps to the tabloids, they have been the focus and talk of every social media Imaginable. Might I add, not many nice things are being said.

So much speculation, and accusation is surfacing it really makes us all wonder if any of it is real. It started with Lamar cheating with a number of random jump-offs to now side-eyeing rumors of a possible crack/cocaine addiction which I think is absolutely absurd!!

We know that kris Jenner is well known for handling her business when it comes to protecting the clans fortune and brand, so it came as to no surprise to me that sources are saying that she went to visit vampire of a divorce attorney Laura Wasser for what was said to be a little over two hours of an "emergency meeting", humph! That alone spells scandalous!

If the couple goes through with this divorce they're are looking at a rumored whopping $75 million to settle it. Bottom line here is Mama Jenner definitely wants to be in control and X out Lamar as the bad seed, my opinion? Khloe loves Lamar an insatiable amount and she really wants to go through whatever lengths to make it work, but this vicious media really wants to be the demise of her promising fairy tale happiness. It's really unfair and unfortunate. Either way, I'm rooting for Khloe`!

Still No Justice, No Peace!

Here at TeamShoeicide we live for fashion, music, gossip and everything in the realms. On the contrary, We also pride ourselves on being in the know on the political, moral, and cultural side of things. The girls and I were having a group chat which stemmed from planning events, to our connection and bond all the way to the series of events that have been occurring as of late, i.e. The George Zimmerman Verdict, The Fruitvale story, and racial profiling as we see it today.

As diverse and differently opinionated as our group is, we all agreed that today's racism and racial profiling is just as bad as it was decades ago. The seven of us collectively deemed it necessary to speak and shed some light on what's really going on in the 2013 society. It's imperative that we educate ourselves and use our large platform to bring the "real" to our audience.

Prime example, I recently learned of a 17 year old Latino male by the name of Alvin who was constantly being harassed by the NYPD. Like Alvin, many young males are usually minding their own business and  may not have a vehicle so they travel on foot. Automatic grounds for being a "suspicious civilian" (we use that term very loosely). God forbid that that young male (again like Alvin or even Trayvon) is wearing a hoodie, sweatshirt, something "urban" or anything that represents the mildest of vulgarity, you can almost bet your bottom dollar that they are gonna be a victim of the law.

I am completely for the law when it's right. But to stop someone because of their race, just to meet a quota or hell, just because? Where is the right in that? Take a look at this short documentary where it depicts the emotions and feelings from both sides (victimized males and cops) along with commentary. Alvin secretly recorded his encounter with the police, and you can hear the rawness of what these people (especially New York natives) have to go through on a daily. THREE WORDS: STOP. QUESTION. FRISK  or in police terms "250". Something has to be done, this is outrageously irrelevant and unnecessary. But seeing as to how police commissioners and all other high authorities are all for the implementing of this program, it doesn't seem as though its going to stop any time soon. Kudos to Alvin for showing such bravery and having courage to record this. It definitely opened my eyes!

UPDATE: We are proud to report that the Stop and Frisk procedure has been completely done away with!!

George Zimmerman fatally shot 17 year old Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012.  Zimmerman was a "Neighborhood Watch" for the neighborhood who resided in. Martin's Father's girlfriend lived in the same area. The call Zimmerman made was at 7:09 PM. Gunshot on the 911 call was at 7:16 PM. Police car arrives at 7:17 PM. Trayvon Martin was pronounced dead at 7:30 PM. After Zimmerman was taken into custody, he was treated for head injuries, then questioned for five hours. Zimmerman was released for lack of evidence and lack of legal grounds for arrest, and Zimmerman had a "right to defend himself with lethal force"

Fast forward to June 10th, 2013. The Zimmerman Trial begins. I watched the trial from day 1 til the day the verdict came.  It was very emotional for me to watch as the defendants and their "liable witnesses" plead their case in making the jurors believe Zimmerman was a innocent man of murdering Trayvon Martin.

...The other day, I find out Zimmerman was pulled over for going 30 mph OVER the speed limit in the State of Texas and was let go with a warning. Zimmerman asked the officer "do you recognize me from tv?" GTFOH!

I am interested to know how you feel about this case? was justice served for Trayvon Martin? I STRONGLY THINK NOT!!!!!!!

Sooooooooo, I Guess It's Open Season...
What Year It? 1953? Why are so many minorities being labeled suspicious for simply LIVING?  This past month has been CRAZY. We decided that some things NEED to be addressed.

In November, black youth Jordan Davis, a 17-year-old Jacksonville resident, was the only person murdered after Michael Dunn, 46, allegedly shot into the SUV Davis was inside several times after an argument about the volume of music playing.
At the Gate Station, Rouer (Dunn's Girlfriend) said Dunn told her that he hated "thug music." Rouer then went inside the store to make purchases and heard several gunshots while she was still within the building. Upon returning and seeing Dunn put his gun back into the glove compartment, Rouer asked why he had shot at the car playing music and Dunn claimed that he feared for his life and that "they threatened to kill me." The couple drove back to their hotel, and claim they did not realize anyone had died until the story appeared on the news the next day.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!? Really Dude, You Shoot 8 bullets into a car and no one shoots back and you flee the scene??? This is the bullshit that we have to go through in 2013... Really?
Here's a link. Hear it for yourself...

50 Years Later, And There Is Still No Justice, No Peace...

What's Really Going On?

Are You Mad About it?!

All the talk this week has been about this past Sunday's VMA's that took place live at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn! The show, of course was very interesting and full of surprises as expected! One of the main highlights, something that people refuse to let go was Miley cyrus' combined performance with Robin Thicke. The obscene, promiscuous, flirty and outrageous act she put on had mouths open and eyes rollin'

Question existing is:  Is This the new Miley Cyrus that everyone is suppose to openly accept? Is She acting out and maybe somewhere down the line planning on toning it down? Me and @FabandFearless had a little friendly debate via Facebook about lil Miss Twerk Sumn', and we both arrived at the conclusion that most of this acting out stems from insecurity and trying to find herself. I love that she's a different person, but she's reaching a bit. C'mon Miley...You have got to find some chill! What do you guys think?

**Check out miley's VMA's performance and judge for yourself!

Truely The Baddest

It was definitely all love this week as all the festivities pop off (The MTV awards and The BMI awards). One highlight that I really appreciated was the tribute to Nicki Minaj by none other than the baddest herself, Trina. It makes me really proud to see female rappers leading the game and acknowledging one another's contributions to music.

Trina also took her social networks and showed her humbleness by sharing photos and footage from the event. No hate, no beef, all love and I love it!  Check out Trina, killing Nicki Minajs' 2010 smash hit "Moment For Life". (Peep Nicki Jammin too) Great moment!

First Look at Kim & Kanye's Baby Girl North West

Kanye West was a guest on the season finale of Kris Jenner’s talk show today. He gave what has to be his most heartfelt interview to date. Not only did Mr. West open up, but he also gave fans what they have been anticipating for two long months. He revealed the very first public picture of him & Kim’s two-month-old daughter North West. How freaking cute is she?! Check out photo & video below.
