Addicted to Heroine

The first step to having an addiction is admitting that you have a problem. Hi my name is Sylvia Smith and I am addicted to buying Mac lipsticks. As of today, I own 7 different colors. And although that may not seem like a lot to some people, I cannot help but think about what color I want to buy next.
Honestly, it was love at first sight when I had laid my eyes on Heroine. I actually saw a customer at work with it on and I had to chase her down like a crazy person in order to find out what the name of this shade was. My addict-like instincts were telling me that it was a Mac lipstick and that just made me want to go out and buy it even more. What I love about this color is that you can get away wearing it in any season. This shade of purple has a slight pink undertone in the light that gives you girly look for summer and spring.  And for the winter and fall, all you need to do is layer that baby up with a coat or two and you got yourself a dark, sultry lip.
When I first started buying Mac lipsticks, I had to learn what worked best for my skin color through trial and error. I kept buying nudes that were too light and I don't know about you, but the powdered donut look is not for me. I feel like there aren't that many NW45 beauty bloggers out there. So if you know any, please comment below and I'll definitely check them out.
Oh, by the way, do you like my nails? They're press-ons! I purchased them at my local beauty supply store and filed them into a stiletto shape. It's my first time having kitty claws and I'm not gonna lie, they're a little hard to get used to. I couldn't even start the microwave without looking like a doofus. But I got loads of compliments at work. Tell me what you guys think.

Stories By Kelly Osbourne.

To all of my Kelly O fans!

Fashion Police Style Star Kelly Osbourne is launching a new line tonight, called Stories By Kelly Osbourne. She is debuting the line via HSN, and the debut will be live at 10pm tonight! I took some time out to review the pieces, and so I want to share my thoughts on the collection.

This collection has many staple pieces, which is always a positive; however, it has that edgy chic look also—hence, why you even love Kelly O to begin with.

Here are some of my favorite looks:
(Top Left to right)

This signature blouse is just adorable, I love signature pieces personally, I don't think you could go wrong with them.

This printed jumpsuit makes for a great fun piece in your statement collection; I personally love the jumpsuit most on full-figured women.

This printed shirtdress (btw, if you didn't know, I love prints).. This dress is really cute, and also works for all sizes.

(Bottom Left to Right)

This pont number is just loveable, it doesn't get more fun than this in the office, if you want to put a spin on your everyday office gear, this is the way to go!

I absolutely LOVE this bow tie blouse. It's a really cute blouse, one. And a classic staple piece. You won't regret this one, ever.

Last but not least, the bow pencil skirt! Yes, the bow is removable, but I'd totally rock it with the bow. This is also a good staple item.

Hope you guys found this info useful. For additional Style Inspiration, follow my IG: @styledbycedes

I really don't splurge shop as much as most girls do.  So I was super excited to take a few days off work and go to Charlotte and treat myself for once. I like to shop cute and affordable. You'll most likely catch me in stores like Forever21, WetSeal, charlotterusse, and Body Central.
My favorite part of the trip was going to ULTA for the first time. Don't get me wrong, I go by my local store at home and window shop all the time. But I've never bought anything until now.
I literally had a complete fangirl moment as soon as I walked into ULTA. Being the makeup junkie that I am, I was excited to try the things that I've always had an eye on. My first grab was the Naked 2 Pallete. I love the packaging. It has this sturdy metal container that would make it nearly impossible to crack the eyeshadows. I also love that there's a mixture between shimmery and matte colors and I can not wait to start making tutorials.

Of course I had to give the Benefit's They're Real push-up Liner a try after seeing all the hype about it from other bloggers and YouTube. This eyeliner is really outstanding. It's the first gel liner that's in pen form and it runs so smoothly onto the skin. I honestly believe it when they say that this is the "eyeliner of the century".
Knowing that foundation is the most important part of anyone's makeup routine, I decided to make my first Real Technique purchase a Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I love the soft, black and white fibers and the cute pink packaging. I'm so glad that I've invested in a good quality face brush. It gives my foundation a smoother application and reduces my makeup to little or no cakieness. For only $5.99, I could not turn this opportunity down.
Last but not least, is my all time favorite purchase, the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown. I've been on the hunt for a good staple piece to add to my brow routine and for some reason, drug store brands were just not cutting it. This product is long-lasting, waterproof, and comes with a double-sided spoolie for an easier application.
It's always important to treat yourself once in awhile. Lately, I have been working nonstop for 2 months straight and I don't splurge my money very often. But I am so grateful to be able to get these products so that I could share them with you guys! I hope you enjoyed reading.
Much love, Sylvia S.

Stylist ALERT-Daniel Hawkins

Well hello there...
I commend the responsibility of a stylist. You're not only transforming somebody's wardrobe, your handing them the attitude to carry their new look. Tonight's stylist alert focuses on DANIEL HAWKINS.

Hawkins has really made a footprint on the styling world. Starting from humble beginnings, he was the assistant and stylist to Marlo Hampton from the Real Housewives of ATL. We all know that Marlo put her best foot forward every time she was on camera, We should thank Daniel for that! Soon enough, Hawkins began styling for a few others on the show like Nene Leaks, her family, and Porsha Stewart. Hawkins has been styling professionally for 4 years now. Growing up, he always knew he wanted to be a part of the fashion world. After walking away to explore a degree in biology, he was called back to his first love. Daniel is considered a part of the elite group of make-up artist, fashion designers, and models that live in the Atlanta area. Future plans include his own reality show and a fashion line!

Before Daniel                                  After Daniel
Daniel recently caught my eye after I saw the styling he did for the Real Housewives of LA star Laura Govan. Every look is so effortless and striking. Laura has a beautiful face and has really made a commitment to staying in shape which are perfect ingredients to enhance the magic of a stylist. That makes sense that he would work with Laura since she is besties with Nene Leaks who was also close friends with Marlo. Looks to me like Hawkins has devised a plan to polish up the whole Real Housewives franchise, NICE!
It's OK to drool over these looks from Daniels IG page.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The other day, I treated myself to a new Mac lipstick (Candy Yum Yum, which I'm wearing today) and I'm loving it. When I applied the lipstick in the store the girls started showering me with compliments like it was chosen from the gods. And I'm pretty sure they get paid to do that because it happens every time!
Today is the first day of Fall, my favorite season. I can't wait to see the leaves change colors and to pull out those layers. The weather is going to be absolutely perfect. I can see it now.
Denim has always been a huge thing for every season, now that they come in all shapes and sizes. But the most classic time to throw on your favorite jean jacket is, no doubt, in the Fall. Whenever I think of wearing denim, the first thought that comes into my head is a pair of jeans and a plain t-shirt. This time, I decided to jazz it up a little bit. My favorite item from this look is definitely the shoes. It makes the casual combo slightly "dressier" but not over doing it at the same time.
As you probably didn't know, this is my first blog post for Team Shoeicide. I just wanted a moment to thank everyone for the great opportunity and my lovely followers for showing me. There will be many more great posts to come.
Thanks for reading guys! Much love x

NYFW2014- Spring/Summer 2015 recap

Since Fashion Week has come and gone let's do a quick recap on what happened, the designers, and the trends.
READY LEGGO!!

What happened??-Not sure if it was the energy of NYC or just the electric feeling of fashion in the air. The Spring/Summer 2015 shows had it all from traditional florals to wacky wedding gowns. Some of the highlights:

* The Besty Johnson show took on a huge topic that has become more acceptable in our society. The designer celebrated same sex marriages by adding a twist to your usual bride. The show featured drag queens, a transgender bride, and some of our favorite housewives. No matter how crazy the show you can always count on Betsy to give us a split!!
*Jeremy Scott had a little help with the accessories featured in his show. Ms. Miley Cyrus was the chosen celeb to add her touch to dunce caps, chunky necklaces, and drop earrings.

*Werk Kendall!! Kendall Jenner one of the Kardashian klan was a busy lady this past week. She was featured in the Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, and Donna Karan show. Watch out Kim!

THE DESIGNERS: I tried to feature my favorite designers on the Shoeicide IG. Here are just a few more that caught my eye...(Blondes, Bagley Mischka, Ralph Lauren)

*More Trends-
-PASTEL PALETTE
-STRONG NATURE PRINTS
-PLAIDS
-SAFARI FEATURES
-SHADES OF YELLOW

NYFW 2014- Spring/Summer 2015

HI SWEETS,

NY Fashion Week is in full swing. Major celebs and style moguls have congregated to the concrete jungle in their best attire to take a look at what we can expect for the next Spring/Summer season. The festivities started a day earlier with the performance brand Athleta. They kicked if off with a display combining strength and style. The shows to follow were far from disappointing. Some of the looks that I drooled over were NICOLE MILLER, JASON WU, BCBG, and NICHOLAS K. I'm expecting some romantic flare and more florals in 2015. Here are some of the trends spotted on the runway so far:
-FLORALS
-LIGHT FABRICS
-DEEP Vs
-PEPLUM
-SOFT BOTTOMS
-DROPPED WAIST

*NICOLE MILLER*
*JASON WU*
*BCBG-MAXAZRIA*
*NICHOLAS K*

Stay plugged for more!!
