Miss Cici def has the "Goodies"

Can we take a moment to reflect on the sexiness that Miss Ciara has been servin us, as of late?! Yessssss!

I have been a fan of Ciara's since her first album, Goodies. But I will be honest and say any subsequent albums after her second album, Ciara: The Evolution, were all hit-and-miss. But... that's neither here nor there. Present day Cici is what's tea.

By this time, you all should have heard her latest single, "Body Party", written by her beau Future (huge fan of his as well as their coupledom). The song is uber sexy and the video... *does a spin twirl like the Queens*... the video is LIFE! Not really feelin the "acting" scenes but the dancing she gives us is everything.

Honorable mention: Her first single "Sorry" from this upcoming album is also one of my faves. Kinda gave us a taste of what we can expect from her new album.

So anyway, back to miss girl... Her stylist or sense of style has changed and it is so working for her. I feel like Future has a lot to do with the new change in style because he is big on fashion and designer labels, but don't quote me on that.

Ciara and Future

I do need her to stop wearing sneakers, though. Or at least not wear them so frequently. Your feet ARE TOO BIG! You look... Nevermind back to the fabulous Ci *flips page*

I am going to totally ignore the "beef" between her and Rihanna... Just not worthy.

Did anyone catch her visit to 106 & Park to premiere the "Body Party" video? Future tagged along and the irony of it all is the fact that ex-boyfriend, Bow Wow is one of the hosts of the show. Very interesting to see how neither of them appeared to feel out of place. Although Bow Wow tried to throw a lil shade by saying he has been doin his thang with "Ang" (Angela Simmons). Oh. Who asked?

Let's have a moment of silence of these Giuseppe Zanotti shoes Miss Cici rocked on the 106 & Park set. Major SHOEICIDE!

Cici's self-titled album is to be released some time this summer

Let The Church Say

One word: Fantasia! Listening to the highly anticipated (at least on my end), long awaited, and refreshingly soulful fourth studio album from Ms. Fantasia Barino. I must first say that I was skeptical, but still anxious to hear the project. But (a big, huge but) the album is everything! She sings about her failures, relationships, doubts, insecurities (both hers and commentators). No one could've prepared me for such a realistic point of view. And I was absolutely positive that it wasn't going to be anywhere close in proximity of how honestly raw, real, and catchy "Back To Me" was. That album in my eyes was like a redemption because the self-titled album prior to was very mediocre. Anyhow, this present-day work is close to a masterpiece. Some of my favorites are "Ain't All Bad" where she croons about how falling in love isn't all it's cracked up to be hence, falling out of love isn't all that bad either. Basically saying that love is a beautiful thing when we have it, but when it's gone and you get through that break up is even more of a triumphant victory. Another song that I immediately gravitated towards was "without me". In this hip hop bouncy produced track she speaks to the trifling man who starts to smell himself a little too much, gets brand new, and acts like he's been on all coincidentally after you parted from him. She throws lots of shade his way with some help from the beautiful Kelley Rowland and none other than the mulch-faceted music veteran Missy Elliot. Love love love that track, it's so relatable! Lastly (although its really cutting my favorites list short) there's a song entitled "To The Heavens" where she pays homage and respect to all the music legends that paved the way and made music what it was. It's very touching and sincere. She shouts out everyone from Michael Jackson and Jimi Hendrix to Whitney Houston and Bob Marley. It was a heartfelt tribute that I'm sure everyone would appreciate. She's had a little flirty fun with tracks like "Change Your Mind" and "So Much To Prove". All in all, the entire album is a straight through listen. She definitely took me on the journey with her this time. And those vocals took me to church honey *snaps*. You GO TASIA! Awesome work! -@Meangirl_ro

What @FabAndFearless Wore (Debutante Ball 2013)

Saturday night I attended the sixty-third annual Debutante Cotillion Ball & my niece was one of the participants. It’s an event for young women who are high school seniors, & it’s hosted by the Miami Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. I didn't have anything I considered appropriate for a “ball” or “gala” & I refused to go buy a gown that I would probably wear that one time, so I decided to pull out my bridesmaid dress that I wore in my best friend’s wedding last year.

My bridesmaid dress is an eggplant (shade of purple) floor length gown that was designed by Bari Jay…

For shoes I chose to wear a nude pair of Steve Madden pumps…

& because my dress was quite simple I decided to go all out with my accessories. I wore a colorful statement necklace by Anna & Ava (As seen on Porsha Stewart from the Real Housewives of Atlanta). I wanted to let my necklace make the "statement", so I wore simple stud earrings that hid behind my hair.

Last but not least, is the most important accessory to me… My watch. I wore my favorite gold Michael Kors watch.

Still the BIGGEST Boss

In recent news, there has been a bit of a hoop-la created after Miami rapper, William Roberts better known as Rick Ross, touched on a rather sensitive subject and ultimately dropped as a Reebok spokesman. By this time, everyone has "heard about it" but who's really listening?

Rick Ross is featured on Rocko's street hit U.O.E.N.O. Most people reading this blog will probably stumble over the pronunciation of the song's title... So it only makes sense that this huge misinterpretation has arised. The song title is a play on words and possibly a mockery of Rocko's heavy southern drawl. "UOENO" translates to "you don't even know (it)". In the song Ross says:

"Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain't even know it / I took her home and enjoyed that, she ain't even know it"
Granted, the lyrics could have been interpreted a number of ways. But was it seriously that influential, that he was stripped of his Reebok endorsement deal? I think not. Allow me to explain...

((Talk to em 1Red))

I do not in any way, shape, form or any fashion condone rape. I will not be insensitive to the matter that is occurring so frequently. I am a woman who can relate to other women regarding the issue. I cannot say I have been a victim of rape, however that does not exclude me from an opinion. Rape is a traumatic experience, indeed, but Hip Hop is a genre of music that touches on many topics. Some that are not so favorable but in any case it is still entertainment. It is a career for many people who rely on their "art" to feed themselves and their families, such is true about Rick Ross. Did he victimize any specific individual? That is debatable. How do you, we or I know he wasn't speaking of his female companion? She might have liked it. *shrugs*

Ross is not the FIRST and he won't be the last to be crucified over lyrics. Perhaps, many are forgetting we can't believe everything we hear. Or maybe society is just extra critical and don't know what to complain about. A few months back, rapper Lil Wayne was featured on Future's "Karate Chop" remix and he said:

"Beat that pussy up like Emmitt Till"

CLEARLY! This is a problem. I mean it wasn't until Emmitt Till's family heard it, of course. In both cases, I heard the lines and took them for what they were worth... NOTHING! It's music. If you don't like it, don't listen. Seems like we are being introduced to a line that provokes controversy almost every week. Have we forgotten about Nicki Minaj's ridiculous political line during the most recent Presidential Election on Mercy:

"I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy bitches is fucking up the economy"
Girllllllllll! *RME* She has a right to choose whichever political party she pleases but uhhhh... Yeah. Have several seats, honey. I have a love/hate relationship with Nicki. She halfway in the looney bin so you never know what to expect from her. I was just informed that has another line out that isn't so tasteful. But whatev.

Call me ignorant or anything of the similar but I still do not feel retracting Ross' Reebok deal is going to change anything. It is 2013, everybody knows how awfully bad Reebok was before Ross. He brought relevance back into the shoe. Not saying they owe him anything but they clearly saw great potential if they signed him, considering the kind of music he makes.

But catch these teas honey...

"We both know that we’re grown / That's why I wanna know / How many drinks would it take you to leave with me? / Yeah, you look good and I got money / But I don't wanna waste my time / Back of my mind I'm hopin you say two or three / You look good, we came to party / But I don't wanna waste my time"
Shall, we put Miguel in the hot seat for his mainstream song that is circulating the airways? Sounds a lot like rape to me, but what do I know? I'm just a listener. I'm just someone who knows how NOT to be influenced by others. Stop taking music so literal. Know when to differentiate real from fake, or fairy tale, for lack of a better term. Have we forgotten that Ross is known for being dishonest? *files nails* I listen for entertain, not a guide to my LIFE! Tuh! Y'all kill me...

DISCLAIMER: My thoughts were all over the place while composing this post. I apologize for any disarray. I am quite passionate about this and cannot seem to portray my thoughts/emotions as I wish.

Also, big shout out to Rocko for this extra promotion. He's an underdog and unfortunately negatively spreads faster.

*grabs more Pickett signs to protest against Reebok*

Baby Bump

Halle Berry FINALLY confirms her pregnancy rumor with her partner, Olivier Martinez. She was caught covering her rumored belly bump just last week, but she showed off the bump wearing a gorgeous purple gown!
