Last week Wednesday I had what I would
say is one of my best birthdays to date. I got to witness the greatness of
Beyonce live at the American Airlines Arena on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. I’ve seen Beyonce every time she
has gone on tour, but this time it was different. I think it was the
anticipation of seeing some of my favorite work performed live… Finally. When
Beyonce dropped the album 4 I was in
love after the first listen. When she later announced her pregnancy, I knew all
hopes for a tour went down the drain. Now, two years later I finally got what I
had been waiting for… Bey, live & better than ever.
Beyonce opened up with an explosive
performance of the girl power anthem “Run The World”, & closed with a
chilling medley of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” & “Halo.” But
she didn’t miss a beat anywhere in between, she danced her heart out to songs
like “End of Time”, “Diva” & “Grown Woman”. Then she mesmerized us with her
voice performing heart-felt ballads like “1 + 1” & my all time favorite “I
Care.” The only thing disappointing about this show was not being able to see
her perform “Dance For You”. Come on Bey, how do you not perform everyone’s
favorite song?
Regardless to whether you’re a die-hard
Beyonce fan or not, there is no denying that this woman is thee greatest
performer on the planet right now. So if you have tickets to see her when she’s
in your city, you will not be disappointed & if you don’t, boy are you missing
out on a phenomenal show. This woman is making history. Did you guys go to see
Bey? What did you think of her performance?
