H&M and Forever 21 taking over

How hard is it to stay afloat in the teen girl retail industry? Lately it seems down right impossible because of fast fashion competitors like H&M and Forever 21. Wet Seal is the third teen store that has filed for bankruptcy due to this reason. A basic cute graphic tee and denim is not enough for a hormone driven cool girl. She wants to be as trendy as her older sister on an allowance budget. Wet Seal will be closing 338 stores leaving almost 4,000 employees out of a job. The brand promises not to disappear, but admits to needing a face lift on product and their website. DEB & Delia's have also suffered, starving their customers trendy appetite. Looks like a niche approach to product doesn't cut it anymore. Retailers must offer shoppers the latest and greatest fast, without breaking the bank.
